Monday July 29th: Nephi, UT or …witness of a crime?

What’s the weather outlook for today: possible thunderstorms in the Central Valley and in the North of Utah? The southern part should be drying out – at last. One look outside tells us we might get rained on: the sky is gray. We have a small climb out of Payson on our way to Santaquin. We get some drops of rain but nothing major. Even I get to stay outside – not in the plastic bag! Just outside of Santaquin some fruit orchards look very inviting.

We have to take the frontage road again, which means we get rid of the many cars. This feels good again. It’s been a while since we could enjoy being on the road by ourselves! Looking at the scenery around the gas station in the distance my woman notices there is no horizontal line. Everything looks crooked – I almost get sick!

Now woman, look, my ears are swinging in the air! I can hear my woman think: if this is no wind, then what will it be on Wednesday when they say it’s going to be breezy?
The horses along the road turn away each time we want to take a picture of them. It's got to be me, doing this!

The lavender at the Young Living Farm is already gone – miss the good smell! We cycle through Mona, thinking about the Christmas toy we picked up here. Mona is expanding with new buildings. Just a short stretch now before we reach Nephi. My woman decides to go to the grocery market first and get a Gatorade first. As we are sitting outside, a cashier woman runs out, shouting to a man to stop. Another cashier also shows up after 5 minutes. They search the car and find a small bottle – something the man probably hadn’t paid. All three of them go back inside the shop. I already had a vision of the sheriff showing up, and a fight on the parking lot. Sometimes gas stations or Mc Donald’s or parking lots do not seem to be the wise choice to sit and relax! We also pay a visit to the Family Dollar shop – fun to walk around in! Nephi is our destination for today. Here we also once had a flat, so my woman is on the lookout and checking where she takes Sweet Machine towards. Later that day a thunderstorm passed through the southern part of town – yes – the place where we were staying. My woman looked at the streets and the heavy rain and the crack under the door… hoping the rain would not get into the room. Because of the rain, we ordered some Chinese food and boy it tasted good: my woman had some beef for me (I hope it was beef!)
